Turn it Around

During a recent session with a client, she mentioned that she needed to do a 180 degree turn with her business. This got me thinking. If what you want is not happening or you have unforseen circumstances hit your path, then you really have no choice but regroup. This will give you a fresh perspective and you can hit your target another way.

Clever thinking in fact, she continued to tell me how she was going to re-design her day and her work activities so that the new strategy would be fully operational. Brilliant thinking on her part, flexible ideas and creative solutions.

When we do not get the results we are expecting, we really need to see it outside the box and sometimes really stretch ourselves. After all the ultimate end is where we are going and if the path alters then that is ok, we need to flow with the new way, as this will get us to our objective.

On a personal note, I had this come up for me in the last month or so, whereby the results weren't showing, and I know I need to persist, I am a life coach after all!

Then I thought about an alternative path and that seemed ok too, now I have a plan B to my final destination, and feel more empowered knowing I am one step closer.

How exciting! This way I can focus on what is, and if what is, is not a reflection of my expectation then I just change the strategy of getting there, knowing full well that I am at an arms length of my dream.

Red goes Faster

When we generalise we can get a distored view, as we have filtered some of the essential information and we have created a particular view point. Then we say this like it is a matter of fact, and it solidifies into black and white.

It is like saying 'red goes faster' Why is that so? because you see Red Ferraris or because we associate the colour red with speed? I named some lovely red shoes my ferrari reds. And no they don't make me walk faster, I mean I can run in them but why would I need to do that?

Often times we do generalise and we are not aware we are doing it, we make sweeping statements and feel that this is the utmost truth. It can be for you, however for others it may not hold any foundation, given their experience, socialisation, culture, race, age or other factors. Opinions are just that, someones' interpetation, doesn't make it right or wrong just an opinion.

We all have valid opinions, just depends on your perspective that is all.

Seeing anothers' point of view will open up your world and believing that there are more pieces to the puzzle.

Easter Chocolate

Which chocolates do you like the best? Well this time of the year its still warm in the southern hemisphere and we are thinking about chocolate!

I like the Lindt Chocolate bunny ones, in white chocolate please. Normally not a big fan of chocolate, like it sure, but not go out there especially looking for it. I can take it or leave it. Today at the supermarket, all the trolleys I saw had them, its like you will never seen them again, we are victims of the retailers put out there. Imagine if they had healthy food and marketed that big time, the consequences would be huge. We would be healthier individuals.

Since drinking Goyin twice a day, we don't crave chocolate in the afternoons, or at any time for that matter. I find my sugar cravings are no longer as I quench it with the Goyin or a piece of fresh fruit. Easy and my body thanks me in the process.

Even when we go out, I gravitate towards the healthier options, good habit to keep.

So during this Easter break, think about what you are eating, sure have fun and enjoy the company of those around you, yet also think about what you are really putting in your mouth. Does your body really crave that type of food and is it good for you?

I Expect it.

For so long I kept hearing 'I hope it will turn out' and "Hopefully it will happen'. Even my late grandmother would often say "si dios quiere"= "If god wills it".

In life we get what we expect not what we want, so now I say, 'I expect this result' and "my expectations are.." This in turn makes me feel more empowered and confident. As I know I can do it and the result will be good.

Expecting things to happen is our most inner desire, we really want a good/great result so why water it down with 'I hope, or we'll see?'

I have a client who replaced the word 'hope' to a more confident, engaging alternative and she is feeling more empowered and feels like she is moving in the right direction.

I expect good things will come, as I put the energy and the passion into making it a success, I feel I have prepared for it and deserve the outcome. I just need to keep persisting and believing that I am here already and not keep success at an arms length.

You know what I mean, some people say, when I have X I will be happy, or next month I will be successful.

Why delay your happiness, start TODAY with some action so you can expect the worthy result.

Watching Paint Dry

Imagine, if that was your job? Yesterday one of my clients described her job like this and she was utterly unmotivated. No wonder if her job does not provide the mental stimulation what do you do? Go mental that is what. You need to keep busy doing something and if your company cannot give you tasks to fullfill your day then you need to find the work!

Being happy at work is important after we spend so much time at work and doing things for others it might as well be satisfying. If you are an enterpeneur like moi, then its about doing your tasks (pleasant and unpleasant ones) with your happy smiley face as you are the creator of your day. And you are creating your freedom.

There is power in being self employed. You generate energy doing what you believe is important to your business seeking those resources and tools to get to your objective. And believe me I have many objectives, always adding and reinventing what is important to us.

That is the creativity process, I LOVE it, being in control of my output and even working weekends, yes I really don't mind as I know it builds our business.

So watching paint dry maybe your current reality, however you can create a different canvas with what you have, just use your imagination.

Laughter Time

Giggling til your stomach aches,

Smiling at the innocence of learning

Feeling alive with the wind in your hair

Touching the water and knowing you are safe in your world

Playing with the most simplest of things, completely fascinated

Watching the pureness of moments

Knowing that you will have everything you want!

Satisfying your curiosity with wonder and amazment

Laugthing til you feel your eyes weep.

That is what this weekend held for me.

Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Deeply touched by the story of Jean-Dominique Bauby. He spent the last year and 3 months 'locked-in' in his body, only the mind and the imagination fully aware. And in that time he wrote his memoir, one painstaking letter at a time, he had help writing it as he could only dictate the story by blinking his left eye, the only body part unaffected by his condition.

I just saw the movie with the same title, and the cinematography was exceptional and very moving, the actors, the scenery and the love all blend into such a touching and inspiring movie. Deeply moving, and elements of wit and humor.

For me it was about connection, connecting with his helpers, his interlocuter and his family, especially his children and his elderly father.

His imagination was multi-layered and colourful in so many ways, if you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it.

It will give you perspective on your current woes, and what is really important to you. To touch your partner, to touch the sand, to enjoy those little acts of kindness and let it really touch you.

I am eager to get my hands on he book now, perhaps I will get the version originale, and absorb it one word at a time.

Anticipation

I am inspired to write about anticipation today, as most of us have things to look forward to. Perhaps it is a holiday, a celebration of some kind, a lovely dinner date, or even a wonderful phone call to expect, anticipation makes us excited and filled with joy and happiness.

I have a motto, that everyday I look forward to something, my clients, walking, exercising even as simple as enjoying the food I have prepared and knowing I am eating healthy balanced food.

Anticipation can make us feel wanted, and appreciated as we gather momentum from the experience, this in turn gives us the vibrations of gratitude and humility. In my mind wonderful traits to esteem to. We get what we expect, so by anticipating events and enjoying them when they are here we acknowledge what we put out and this is reinforced back.

Anticipating is like planning, however more relaxed as sometimes we don't know the full details just that it will happen, as we can feel this with our whole fibre of being.

So what will you anticipate today?
